ClipForge AI vs VEED: Making Video vs Cutting It

VEED sells a video creation suite. Its catalogue includes AI avatars, text-to-video, image-to-video, an AI image generator, voice cloning, text to speech, lip sync, eye-contact correction, AI dubbing into more than 50 languages, a screen recorder, a webcam recorder, a teleprompter, a subtitle generator, branded video hosting with embeds and analytics, and clipping. That is a genuinely large product and most of it has no ClipForge equivalent, because ClipForge is not attempting it.

ClipForge sells one pipeline and goes deep on it. A long recording goes in. Detection runs across audio energy, transcript sentiment and visual engagement, and returns ranked segments with a virality score and its components. The hook writer produces five competing openings per clip. Captions animate in one of five short-form styles, reframing tracks the speaker from 16:9 to 9:16, and publishing pushes to five platforms on a calendar. VEED has no scoring and no hook writer at any tier.

So the honest filter is this. If you need to make video that does not exist yet, ClipForge is not a candidate and no amount of pricing comparison changes that. If you have recordings and need to know which 90 seconds of a 70-minute conversation deserve a Short, VEED will cut clips for you but will not tell you which one to post, which is the part that takes the time.

It is easy to read VEED credit allowances as a throughput cap and conclude that Creator at 500 credits a month is restrictive. It is not, because the credits meter generative AI rather than editing or clipping. VEED prices them at roughly 4 credits per generated AI video, which is why Creator advertises 6,000 credits a year as about 1,500 AI videos. Subtitling, editing, recording and clipping do not draw on that pool, and auto subtitles are unlimited on every paid tier.

That is a meaningful correction to make, because the whole OpusClip and Vizard comparison turns on a per-minute meter and this one does not. Nothing in VEED caps how many source videos you clip. What the credits constrain is how much synthetic content you generate: avatars, voiceover, dubbing hours and generated images. Text to speech is bounded separately at 4 hours a year on Creator, 144 on Pro and 960 on Studio.

The one credit rule worth planning around is that they do not carry over. VEED states it directly in its pricing FAQ: the full allowance refreshes at renewal and unused credits are lost. If your generative work is seasonal, you pay all year for a peak you use in two months, and moving up a tier mid-spike is the intended remedy.

VEED is priced per user per month: Creator at $25, Pro at $45 and Studio at $79, or $12.25, $22.08 and $38.75 respectively when billed annually. It also caps the number of editors at 3 on Creator and Pro and 5 on Studio, with more only on Enterprise. ClipForge is priced per workspace: $19 Creator, $49 Pro and $149 Agency per month, with team sharing on Pro and no seat count in the price at all.

For one person, VEED is cheaper at every comparable tier and it is not close: $265 a year for VEED Pro against $468 for ClipForge Pro. For two, they are close. For three, which is the VEED Pro editor ceiling, VEED Pro costs $795 a year against $468 and the flat plan is now $327 cheaper with room to keep adding people. A five-person team that needs more than three editors has to move to VEED Studio at $465 per user, or $2,325 a year, against $1,428 for ClipForge Agency with unlimited seats.

None of this says VEED is overpriced. Per-seat pricing is normal for a suite where every seat is doing creative work in the editor, and VEED is selling far more software per seat. It does mean the two bills diverge quickly with headcount, in opposite directions, so a comparison made at one seat will mislead you at four.

VEED supports multiple brand kits from Creator upward and adds custom watermarks on Studio, which covers a team that publishes for one organisation with several sub-brands. What it does not publish below Enterprise is white-label output or separated per-client workspaces, and the reviewer count tells the same story: zero reviewers on Creator, one on Pro and Studio, unlimited only on Enterprise.

An agency running eight clients needs eight isolated asset libraries, eight brand kits, output carrying no trace of the tool that produced it, and enough seats that account managers can review without consuming an editor licence. ClipForge Agency provides that at $149/month, or $119 billed annually, with unlimited projects and no seat count. VEED answers it with a quote.

The reverse case is just as real and worth stating plainly. If your agency work involves producing new footage, localising campaigns into a dozen languages, or delivering hosted video with analytics and calls to action, ClipForge cannot do any of it and VEED does all three well. Several teams run both, using VEED to make and localise and ClipForge to cut and distribute, which is a more honest description of the market than either tool being an alternative to the other.
