VEED generates video: avatars, text-to-video, voice cloning, dubbing into 50 languages. ClipForge cuts video you already recorded into ranked, scored, captioned clips. These are adjacent tools that get compared constantly, and for most workflows only one of them is the answer.

## Verdict

These two products barely overlap and the comparison is useful mainly for ruling one out. VEED is a broad AI video creation suite: AI avatars, text-to-video, voice cloning, image generation, dubbing, a screen recorder, a teleprompter, video hosting with analytics, and clipping as one feature among dozens. ClipForge does one pipeline: detect the strong moments in a long recording, rank them by predicted performance, write the hooks, caption and reframe, then export the clips for you to post. VEED has no virality scoring and no hook writer. ClipForge cannot generate a frame of new footage. The other real difference is commercial: VEED charges per user and caps editors at 3 on its two middle tiers, ClipForge charges a flat price per workspace. That decides it for teams more often than any feature does.

## Feature-by-feature comparison

| Feature | ClipForge AI | VEED | Wins |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Primary job | Repurposing pipeline: detect, rank, hook, caption and reframe clips from recordings you already have, exported as files you post yourself | General video creation suite: generate, record, edit, subtitle, translate, host and analyse. Clipping is one tool among dozens | ClipForge AI |
| Virality scoring | Every detected clip is scored 0-100 with the reason it was picked, and a breakdown across five dimensions is one press away | Not available. Clips are generated but not ranked by predicted performance | ClipForge AI |
| Hook generation | AI Hook Writer on Pro: 5 variants per clip across curiosity, shock, story, authority and humour, each with its persuasion mechanism named | Not available. There is a script generator, which is a different job | ClipForge AI |
| Generative video and audio | No avatars or lip sync | AI avatars, text-to-video, image-to-video, image generation, voice cloning, text to speech and lip sync | VEED |
| Translation and dubbing | Transcript translation into 30 languages with subtitle download, and dubbing of an exported clip between 12, on the $149 Agency plan only | Subtitle translation and AI dubbing into 50-plus languages, with 6 hours a year on Pro and 12 on Studio | VEED |
| Pricing model | Flat per workspace. $19 Creator, $49 Pro, $149 Agency per month, and team sharing does not change the price | Per user. $25 Creator, $45 Pro, $79 Studio per user per month, with editors capped at 3 on Creator and Pro and 5 on Studio | ClipForge AI |
| Maximum export resolution | 1080p on every paid tier, 720p on Free | 720p on Free, 1080p on Creator, 4K on Pro and Studio | VEED |
| Free tier clipping | 3 full projects a month with AI detection, captions and reframing, watermarked | The Clips feature is trial-only on Free, exports are capped at 10 minutes and 720p, auto subtitles are limited to 10 minutes a month, and output is watermarked | ClipForge AI |
| What the credits meter | No credits. Projects per month, and AI features included in the tier or billed to your own model key | Credits meter generative AI, not clipping, at roughly 4 credits per generated video. 500/month on Creator, 2,500 on Pro, 15,000 on Studio, and they do not carry over | VEED |
| Client-branded exports and client workspaces | Agency at $149/month flat: a brand kit and workspace per client, and unlimited projects | Custom watermarks on Studio and multiple brand kits from Creator, but no per-client workspace to hold each client's branding below Enterprise | ClipForge AI |
| Bring your own model keys | Supply your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, HuggingFace, Replicate or fal key, AES-256 encrypted at rest | Not offered. Generative usage is bundled and metered as credits | ClipForge AI |
| Hosting, analytics and distribution | None of these. A finished clip is a file you download and post yourself; direct publishing is planned | Branded video hosting, embeds, custom calls to action, video analytics and privacy controls, plus SSO on the upper tiers | VEED |

## Pricing

VEED has a free plan and paid tiers from $12.25 per user per month billed annually, is priced per user, and caps editors at 3 on Creator and Pro.

ClipForge starts free and is priced flat per workspace, so the number of people using it never changes the bill.

| Plan | ClipForge AI | VEED | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free Tier | $0/mo | $0/mo | Both are free forever and both watermark. VEED Free caps exports at 10 minutes and 720p, allows 2 GB of storage and 10 minutes of auto subtitles a month, and offers most AI editing tools including Clips on a try-once basis. ClipForge Free gives 3 complete projects a month with detection, captions and reframing, and does not expire. |
| Entry Paid | $19/mo, $15/mo annually | $25/user/mo, $12.25/user/mo annually | VEED Creator is $147 billed yearly per user against $180 a year for ClipForge Creator, so for one person VEED is cheaper and adds unlimited export length, unlimited auto subtitles and unlimited upload size. It has no virality scoring, and no hook writer at any tier (the ClipForge Hook Writer is on Pro). For a second user VEED doubles and ClipForge does not. |
| Team | $49/mo, $39/mo annually (Pro) | $45/user/mo, $22.08/user/mo annually (Pro) | This is where the two pricing models separate. One VEED Pro seat is $265 a year and ClipForge Pro is $468 a year, so a solo user pays less on VEED. Three VEED Pro seats, which is the editor cap on that tier, is $795 a year against the same $468. Above roughly two seats the flat plan is cheaper, and it keeps getting cheaper from there. |

## Why teams switch from VEED

### Clips arrive ranked, not just cut

VEED can produce clips from a long video. It does not tell you which of them is worth posting. ClipForge scores every clip and orders them, which is the difference between 18 files and a shortlist of 4.

### The first three seconds get written for you

VEED has no hook writing tool. ClipForge generates 5 competing openings per clip across distinct persuasion patterns and names the mechanism behind each, so you can A/B test the part of the clip that decides its distribution.

### Adding people does not multiply the bill

VEED charges per user and caps editors at 3 on Creator and Pro. ClipForge charges per workspace, so the third and fourth editor cost nothing and there is no cap to bump into.

### Built for other people brands

ClipForge Agency gives client-branded exports, with a separate workspace and brand kit per client, for $149/month flat. VEED offers custom watermarks on Studio but no per-client separation below Enterprise.

### Nothing expires and nothing is metered mid-month

VEED credits reset each cycle and do not carry over, so unused allowance is lost and a heavy week can strand you. ClipForge counts projects, and projects persist for the life of the account.

### Your own model keys

ClipForge accepts your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, HuggingFace, Replicate or fal key, AES-256 encrypted at rest, so inference bills to you at vendor rates rather than being resold as credits.

## These tools are not substitutes, and the comparison is mostly a filter

VEED sells a video creation suite. Its catalogue includes AI avatars, text-to-video, image-to-video, an AI image generator, voice cloning, text to speech, lip sync, eye-contact correction, AI dubbing into more than 50 languages, a screen recorder, a webcam recorder, a teleprompter, a subtitle generator, branded video hosting with embeds and analytics, and clipping. That is a genuinely large product and most of it has no ClipForge equivalent, because ClipForge is not attempting it.

ClipForge sells one pipeline and goes deep on it. A long recording goes in. Detection reads the full transcript and returns ranked segments, each with a virality score and the reason it was picked. The hook writer produces five competing openings per clip. Captions come in one of three short-form styles and reframing center-crops 16:9 to 9:16. What comes out is a file you post yourself. VEED has no scoring and no hook writer at any tier.

So the honest filter is this. If you need to make video that does not exist yet, ClipForge is not a candidate and no amount of pricing comparison changes that. If you have recordings and need to know which 90 seconds of a 70-minute conversation deserve a Short, VEED will cut clips for you but will not tell you which one to post, which is the part that takes the time.

## What VEED credits actually meter, which is not what most comparisons assume

It is easy to read VEED credit allowances as a throughput cap and conclude that Creator at 500 credits a month is restrictive. It is not, because the credits meter generative AI rather than editing or clipping. VEED prices them at roughly 4 credits per generated AI video, which is why Creator advertises 6,000 credits a year as about 1,500 AI videos. Subtitling, editing, recording and clipping do not draw on that pool, and auto subtitles are unlimited on every paid tier.

That is a meaningful correction to make, because the whole OpusClip and Vizard comparison turns on a per-minute meter and this one does not. Nothing in VEED caps how many source videos you clip. What the credits constrain is how much synthetic content you generate: avatars, voiceover, dubbing hours and generated images. Text to speech is bounded separately at 4 hours a year on Creator, 144 on Pro and 960 on Studio.

The one credit rule worth planning around is that they do not carry over. VEED states it directly in its pricing FAQ: the full allowance refreshes at renewal and unused credits are lost. If your generative work is seasonal, you pay all year for a peak you use in two months, and moving up a tier mid-spike is the intended remedy.

## Per-user against flat, and where the lines cross

VEED is priced per user per month: Creator at $25, Pro at $45 and Studio at $79, or $12.25, $22.08 and $38.75 respectively when billed annually. It also caps the number of editors at 3 on Creator and Pro and 5 on Studio, with more only on Enterprise. ClipForge is priced per workspace: $19 Creator, $49 Pro and $149 Agency per month, with team sharing on Pro and no seat count in the price at all.

For one person, VEED is cheaper at every comparable tier and it is not close: $265 a year for VEED Pro against $468 for ClipForge Pro. For two, they are close. For three, which is the VEED Pro editor ceiling, VEED Pro costs $795 a year against $468 and the flat plan is now $327 cheaper with room to keep adding people. A five-person team that needs more than three editors has to move to VEED Studio at $465 per user, or $2,325 a year, against $1,428 for ClipForge Agency with unlimited seats.

None of this says VEED is overpriced. Per-seat pricing is normal for a suite where every seat is doing creative work in the editor, and VEED is selling far more software per seat. It does mean the two bills diverge quickly with headcount, in opposite directions, so a comparison made at one seat will mislead you at four.

## Client work is the clearest structural gap

VEED supports multiple brand kits from Creator upward and adds custom watermarks on Studio, which covers a team that publishes for one organisation with several sub-brands. What it does not publish below Enterprise is separated per-client workspaces, and the reviewer count tells the same story: zero reviewers on Creator, one on Pro and Studio, unlimited only on Enterprise.

An agency running eight clients needs eight isolated asset libraries, eight brand kits, output carrying no trace of the tool that produced it, and enough seats that account managers can review without consuming an editor licence. ClipForge Agency provides that at $149/month, or $119 billed annually, with unlimited projects and no seat count. VEED answers it with a quote.

The reverse case is just as real and worth stating plainly. If your agency work involves producing new footage, localising campaigns into a dozen languages, or delivering hosted video with analytics and calls to action, ClipForge cannot do any of it and VEED does all three well. Several teams run both, using VEED to make and localise and ClipForge to cut and distribute, which is a more honest description of the market than either tool being an alternative to the other.

## Pricing scenarios

### Solo creator repurposing a weekly show into Shorts

- ClipForge AI: ClipForge Creator, $15/month billed annually
- VEED: VEED Creator, $12.25/month billed annually

VEED Creator is $147 a year against $180, so it is $33 cheaper, and it adds unlimited export length, unlimited auto subtitles and unlimited upload size. What you give up is the whole reason to buy a clipping tool: no virality scoring, so the clips arrive unranked. Neither plan writes hooks: the ClipForge Hook Writer is on Pro. If you are comfortable choosing clips yourself, VEED is the cheaper editor and the better general-purpose tool. If choosing is the part eating your evenings, that is exactly the work ClipForge automates.

### Three-person content team producing clips and localised video

- ClipForge AI: ClipForge Pro, $39/month billed annually
- VEED: VEED Pro, three seats, $66.24/month billed annually

Three VEED Pro seats is $795 a year against $468 for ClipForge Pro with team sharing, so the flat plan saves $327 and three seats is also the VEED Pro editor ceiling. But this team localises, and VEED Pro includes 6 hours a year of AI dubbing, translation into 50-plus languages and 4K export. ClipForge has no 4K export at any price, and it translates and dubs only on Agency, which at $1,428 a year billed annually costs more than the three VEED seats. If localisation is genuinely part of the remit, pay the difference or run both; if it is aspirational, the flat plan is the cheaper way to do the work you actually do.

### Agency, 8 client brands, clips delivered under client branding

- ClipForge AI: ClipForge Agency, $119/month billed annually
- VEED: VEED Studio or Enterprise, $465/user/year, or a quote

ClipForge Agency is $1,428 a year for unlimited projects, unlimited seats, client-branded exports and a separate workspace and brand kit for each of the eight clients. VEED Studio is $465 per user per year and still caps editors at 5, offers custom watermarks rather than per-client branding, and reserves per-client separation and unlimited reviewers for Enterprise. Three Studio seats already exceed the ClipForge Agency price before the structural gaps are counted. If the deliverable is clips under a client logo, this is the scenario ClipForge Agency was priced for.

## Which to choose, by audience

### Creators repurposing existing recordings: ClipForge AI

This is the entire ClipForge product and one tool inside VEED. Ranked clips with a virality score and five hook variants per clip is a different deliverable from a set of cut segments, and VEED has neither the scoring nor the hook writer at any tier.

### Teams producing video that does not exist yet: VEED

Avatars, lip sync and a screen recorder are all VEED and none are ClipForge. If your pipeline starts with a script rather than a recording, ClipForge is not a candidate and this comparison ends here.

### Teams of three or more sharing one workspace: ClipForge AI

VEED charges per user and caps editors at 3 on Creator and Pro. Three VEED Pro seats is $795 a year against $468 for ClipForge Pro with team sharing and no seat count, and the gap widens with every person you add.

### Anyone localising content into multiple languages: VEED

VEED does subtitle translation and AI dubbing into more than 50 languages, with 6 hours a year on Pro and 12 on Studio. ClipForge translates a transcript into 30 languages and dubs an exported clip between 12 only on its Agency plan, so below that plan there is no comparison to make, and above it VEED still covers more languages.

### Agencies delivering under client branding: ClipForge AI

Client-branded exports, a workspace and brand kit per client, unlimited projects and unlimited seats at $149/month flat. VEED offers custom watermarks on Studio but reserves genuine per-client separation for Enterprise, priced by quote.

## Switching from VEED

1. **1. Decide whether you are replacing VEED or adding to it.** This step matters more here than in any other migration on this site. If you use VEED for avatars, screen recording or hosted video, ClipForge replaces none of it, and it replaces VEED dubbing only on the Agency plan and in fewer languages, so you are adding a clipping stage rather than switching tools. If you use VEED only to trim and subtitle recordings you already have, ClipForge covers that and more, and the move is a genuine replacement.
2. **2. Export your source recordings, not your VEED projects.** ClipForge runs detection on rendered video, so export the long-form originals as MP4, MOV or WebM rather than trying to move project files. Keep each file under 2 GB: VEED accepts unlimited upload sizes on paid tiers, so a source that uploaded there may need re-encoding to a delivery-grade export first.
3. **3. Run one recording through and compare the shortlist.** Upload a single long recording and let detection finish. You get ranked clips, each with a virality score and the reason it was picked, which is the output VEED does not produce. Compare that shortlist against the clips you would have picked by hand in VEED. That comparison, on your own content, is the only reliable way to judge whether the scoring earns its place in your workflow.
4. **4. Rebuild your brand kit per client.** Rebuild your caption style, colours and fonts as a brand kit. On Agency, create one workspace and brand kit per client, which is the separation VEED reserves for Enterprise.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is ClipForge a replacement for VEED?

For repurposing long recordings into short-form clips, yes, and it adds virality scoring, hook writing and a viral forecast that VEED has no equivalent for. For everything else VEED does, no. VEED generates video from scripts, creates AI avatars, clones voices, dubs into more than 50 languages, records screen and webcam, and hosts video with analytics and embeds. ClipForge does none of that and is not trying to. If you use VEED for generation, ClipForge is an addition rather than a replacement.

### Does VEED have virality scoring or a hook writer?

Neither. VEED can generate clips from a longer video, but it does not rank them by predicted performance and it has no tool that writes competing openings for a clip. It does have a script generator, which writes scripts for videos you are about to make rather than hooks for clips you have already cut. Clip selection and hook writing are the two steps that consume the most time in a repurposing workflow, and in VEED both remain manual.

### How do VEED credits work, and do they limit how much I can clip?

They do not limit clipping. VEED credits meter generative AI at roughly 4 credits per generated AI video, covering avatars, text-to-video, image generation, voiceover and dubbing. Editing, recording, subtitling and clipping do not consume them, and auto subtitles are unlimited on every paid tier. The allowance is 500 a month on Creator, 2,500 on Pro and 15,000 on Studio, and VEED states that credits do not carry over between billing cycles.

### Which is cheaper, ClipForge or VEED?

For one person, VEED. VEED Creator is $147 a year against $180 for ClipForge Creator, and VEED Pro is $265 a year against $468 for ClipForge Pro. The crossover is headcount, because VEED charges per user and ClipForge charges per workspace. At three seats, which is the VEED Pro editor cap, VEED Pro is $795 a year against $468. At agency scale ClipForge Agency is $1,428 a year with unlimited seats, and three VEED Studio seats alone exceed that.

### Can ClipForge export in 4K like VEED?

No. VEED exports 4K on Pro and Studio and 1080p on Creator. ClipForge exports 1080p on every paid tier and 720p on Free. Because TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts all transcode uploads well below 4K, the practical difference for short-form distribution is small. For client deliverables that specify 4K, or masters you plan to re-edit later, VEED meets the requirement and ClipForge does not.

### Can I use both tools together?

Yes, and for teams doing both generation and repurposing it is the most sensible arrangement. VEED handles the work that creates footage, localises it and hosts it; ClipForge handles the work that cuts existing recordings into ranked, hooked, captioned clips and distributes them. Both have permanent free tiers, so you can run one real recording through each and see which half of your workflow each one is actually solving before you pay for anything.
